PETALING JAYA: The "Datuk Seri" involved in the assault of three Rela members on duty is 29-years-old, said Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat.
SAC Fadzil urged the man to surrender himself, adding that the matter is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of his duties.
This is on top of the original investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means.
The "Datuk Seri" allegedly lost his cool and beat up three Rela members on duty due to a perceived lack of respect shown by them.
The incident occurred on Friday morning near a temple in Ampang as his car was allegedly blocking the road.
A video recording of the incident showed the man beating up the Rela members who did not fight back.
