PETALING JAYA: Raise The Flag in creative patriotic style and stand to win 60 great prizes that include staycations and dining vouchers.

Star Media Group’s Raise the Flag initiative invites readers to assemble the Jalur Gemilang included in today’s wrap and decorate the T-shirt template in the centrespread.

From the blooms of the bunga raya to the recognisable Petronas Twin Towers, draw Malaysian motifs using markers or colour pencils. Feel free to add bling to your Malaysian tiger or stick dazzle on your patriotic words, if that’s your style.

To win, readers should then take a photo of themselves, alone or with friends and family, waving the Jalur Gemilang while “wearing” their decorated T-shirts.

The photos can then be shared on social media with the hashtag #RaiseTheFlagMY, with a personalised “love note” to Malaysia, a caption to capture the love for your country.

The top prizes include a two-night staycation at The Andaman, Langkawi, and a night at The Westin Kuala Lumpur.

There are also dining vouchers from Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Element Kuala Lumpur, Four Points by Sheraton Puchong, as well as Le Méridien in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

For the best group entry with a minimum of 15 people, Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar will be sponsoring a buffet line for 100 pax. The winner gets to choose the venue for the feast, be it in an office, school, or home. Worth RM4,000, expect to indulge in Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar’s signature dishes such as nasi briyani, rendang ayam, and sambal fish.

Two other group prizes await, thanks to Pizza Hut. Up for grabs are 2 x 30 vouchers of its School Deal 2 (worth RM747 each). Each School Deal 2 voucher offers a Regular Pizza (Beef /Chicken Pepperoni/ Aloha Chicken/ Chicken Delight), two bowls of Cream of Mushroom soup and two soft drinks.

For a full list of the prizes, refer to the T-shirt template centrespread. The contest closes on Sept 17.

Star Media Group’s Raise the Flag campaign seeks to boost national pride and unity among Malaysians of all ages and ethnicities.

Aset Kayamas is the main sponsor while Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) is co-sponsor.

To bulk order any of the remaining Raise The Flag issues for Aug 18, Aug 21 and Sept 14, contact The Star’s Customer Care unit at 1-300-88-7827 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
