Don: Need for ethics panels to ensure confidentiality

KUALA LUMPUR: Patient confidentiality and information security are the main concerns among Malaysians when it comes to the Malaysian Health Data Warehouse (MyHDW).

Member of the Expert Panel on Ethics to the European Research Agency Prof Dr Zabidi Azhar Mohd Hussin said the move by the Government to set up the MyHDW is laudable for the potential benefits but no less important is the need to have powerful organisations to act as watchdogs.
