PETALING JAYA: The New Generation Party (NewGen Party) has changed its name to Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBR) and announced the appointment of new central executive committee members.
"We take this opportunity to confirm that we have decided to change the party name to 'Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBR)'," said PBR founder S. Gobi Krishnan (pix), adding that the changes were submitted to the Registrar of Societies on Friday.
PBR also announced several new appointments, including former Umno, PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia member Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor as the new PBR president.
Former Batu Kawan Umno deputy head and Pribumi member Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan is the new PBS deputy president.
Syed Nazarudin Syed Aziz and Rajaretinam Armuggan have been named PBR vice presidents.
Gobi, who is former PKR national strategy and policy bureau secretary, maintains his position as PBR secretary-general.
Tan Chee Seng has been named treasurer, Abdul Ghani Haroon is information chief, and Surendran Shamugam is a central executive committee member.
The NewGen Party was registered in September 2013, and is a multiracial party targeting young people.
