PETALING JAYA: A check with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) on Tombo Enterprise Sdn Bhd, where Ri Jong-chol was reportedly a former business partner, showed that the company is fully owned by Malaysians.
Tombo was registered on May 17, 1978.
The company listed its business as general trading of health products.
Three directors, a manager and a secretary are listed in the CCM entry on Tombo, all of them Malaysians.
Two of the directors are shareholders in the company, which operates from Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras.
Tombo’s managing director Chong Ah Kow @ Chong Ching Chee had told Kwong Wah Yit Poh that he had partnered with Ri and helped him apply for a working visa.
Chong was quoted saying that he had partnered with Ri as his uncle had invented a traditional herbal product.
However, Hong said no successful deal was concluded as the prices were too high.
