Free online tuition for over 1,000 SPM students in Tanjung Piai

PONTIAN: Some 1,650 Form Five students from schools in Tanjung Piai will now be able to get free online tuition to help them prepare for their SPM examinations.

The programme, known as tanjungpiaituition.com, covers 13 subjects for both science and arts students.

Tanjung Piai MP Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng, who initiated and funded the project, said that the endeavour was part of a 15-year transformation programme for the constituency.

"Education is important to lift the constituency's future generation," he said, adding that the project costs RM500,000 per year.

He expressed his hope that all the students would be able to do well in their SPM and move on to higher education.

"I hope that this online tuition will also help to ease the financial burden of parents who would normally have to fork out at least RM200 for each subject," he said at the launch of the programme at SMK Datuk Penggawa Barat here Sunday.
