GEORGE TOWN: Side issues arising from any possible snap polls should not be raised by DAP’s Pakatan Harapan elections, said Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow added a decision has yet to be made on any snap elections for Penang, saying that he was more interested in reaching a decision.
“Other matters can follow suit if you can achieve the decision,” he told a press conference in Komtar on Friday.
Chow said this when asked to comment on reports that Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon expressed working with PAS for the snap elections as the latter would not be able to go up against Umno and BN on its own.
It was reported on Friday that PKR remained unconvinced about the need for snap polls.
PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was quoted saying that her party could not agree following a thorough meeting that also took into account the opinions of civil society.
She had added that PKR would be sending a delegation to the DAP leadership to explain their stand.
