Mavcom decisions legally binding but consumer groups aren’t happy


KUALA LUMPUR: Although the Malaysian Aviation Commission’s (Mavcom) decision on consumer complaints are legally binding, consumer groups are worried about the cost it will incur on airline travellers.

Chief executive officer Azmir Zain said the Malaysia Aviation Consumer Protection Code 2016 empowered Mavcom to make decisions on a wide variety of things – from disagreements on flight cancellation to lost luggage.
