Departing passengers may be imposed a fee


Paying more: Azmir says Mavcom will only explore charging departing passengers. The fees that the commission can collect may reach up to RM40mil. With him is Pushpalatha who intends to improve transparency on the disclosure of air fares.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) is mulling a plan to charge departing passengers a fee.

Mavcom chief operating officer Azmir Zain said the fee would be used to fund the commission’s operations.
