KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has uploaded on Facebook a musical video clip and Hari Raya greetings that were recorded at his official residence, Seri Perdana, in Putrajaya to mark the joyous occasion.

The Prime Minister extended his Hari Raya wishes and advised all Malaysians to be careful when driving to their respective destinations.

“As we usher in the celebrations, I hope motorists will be cautious and careful when driving home to spend time with their loved ones in their hometowns, God willing.

“My family and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Malaysians a happy and prosperous Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin,” said the Prime Minister and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

The video featuring the song Suasana Hari Raya was recorded by the children of the Permata Seni Group, and those from three homes – Baitul Barokah Wal Mahabbah, Rumah Kasih Harmoni and Asrama Darul Falah – at Seri Perdana.

MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, in his message, said that the country was blessed as all races were free to practise their respective faith.

He urged Malaysians to put aside their prejudices and forge closer racial bond with one another.

“I call on Malaysians to take what is good and to tear down and dismantle prejudices,” he said.

Malaysians should also use the opportunity to continue the tradition of having open houses.

“Harmony in the family is also needed as a happy family is a catalyst that ensures the nation’s success,” he added.

Dr Subramaniam, who is also Health Minister, reminded Malaysians to be mindful of their food intake during the festive season. — Bernama
