All quiet at Pinhorn Road

GEORGE TOWN: All was quiet outside Lim Guan Eng’s Pinhorn Road bungalow except for a handful of reporters and photographers on standby outside.

Attempts to get comments from Lim’s wife, Betty Chew, were not successful although it is believed she was in the house.

At 6.50pm, city councillor Joseph Ng arrived while Lim’s personal assistant Hong Kian Beng reached five minutes later.

While chatting with the press, Ng received a call and his phone displayed the caller’s name as “Betty”.

Immediately after, he entered the house with Hong and a photographer from state publication Buletin Mutiara.

Two cars were seen parked in the bungalow compound when the gate was opened.

Although Chew was also questioned by the MACC with her husband last month, it is learnt that she was not wanted by the authority.
