GEORGE TOWN: A group of 15 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has questioned the need for the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) considering that the state has a negative population growth.
In a statement yesterday, the NGOs said the Malaysian Statistics Department had projected a population of 1.94 million by 2040 while the SRS Consortium projected it to be 2.45 million by 2030.
