Council gives 13 reasons for chieftain’s removal from office

SEREMBAN: The Undang of Johol Datuk Mohammad Jan Abdul Ghani has been removed as chieftain for allegedly felling timber in the 200ha Gunung Tampin forest reserve for personal gain.

Head of the Johol’s council of elders, Datuk Jenang Zakaria Mohammad, says his actions – a clear violation of provisions under the National Forestry Act 1984 – was one of 13 reasons for Mohammad Jan’s removal by the council.
