Sentence upheld for bus driver who tried to set fire to girlfriend

KUALA LUMPUR:  A former bus driver who tried to burn his girlfriend using an inflammable liquid lost his appeal when a High Court upheld his 17-year jail sentence for attempted murder.

Mohamad Saiful Mohamad Azmi, 32, was found guilty by a lower court for attempting to murder Dayang Adizaizimah Awang, 38, at Teratai Mewah apartment in Setapak at about 3.30am on March 30, 2012.
