Bauxite clean-up to begin

KUANTAN: The Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK), Fire and Rescue Department and Alam Flora Sdn Bhd have begun cleaning up roads stained red by bauxite dust.

More than 100 officers and workers went to some of the worst affected areas yesterday and proceeded to wash the roads and dig out mud and bauxite waste hours before the three-month moratorium on bauxite mining came into force today.
