SHAH ALAM: She has been on the Dean’s List every semester since starting her degree in Computer Forensics three years ago.
For Sharifah Shahnaz Syed Adil Hassan, all the hard work has paid off. Yesterday, she graduated with First Class honours from the Management and Science University (MSU).
She was also awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award, which came with a RM3,000 cash grant and a RM18,000 MSU scholarship.
“My parents are the main reason why I’ve worked so hard. I really hope they will be proud of me,” said Sharifah Shahnaz from Kuala Lumpur.
In the few months since she finished her degree, the 23-year-old landed a job as a junior quality engineer with a Finnish computer security company based here.
Sharifah Shahnaz, whose younger sister also studies in the university, was one of the 1,234 students who received their scrolls at MSU’s 17th convocation ceremony.
MSU chancellor Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah presented the certificates and awards.
In her speech, the Queen said she was happy that the government focused on building human capital through the 11th Malaysia Plan and Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025.
“Human capital is the most important resource in the development of a country,” she said.
After the ceremony, MSU president Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid said university graduates needed to be holistic and entrepreneurial, besides performing academically.
