PETALING JAYA: The Government is seriously mulling a move to raise toll charges by 30%.

According to sources, the matter was raised during the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

The move is expected to affect at least 16 highways, though the number may rise to 19.

If, for example, the toll on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) was increased, the charge would rise from the current RM1.60 to RM2.10.

However, it remains unclear if the toll hike would be implemented in one go or in stages.
