KUALA LUMPUR: The removal of the court power to grant bail in the proposed amendments to the Sedition Act is an ‘affront to the judiciary’, said Nurul Izzah Anwar (pic).
"The shifting of power (to grant bail) from the court to the public prosecutor, who is a Government appointee, is a direct attack to the separation of powers and an affront to the judiciary," said Nurul at a press conference in Parliament Tuesday.
