Nurul Izzah should be the next Selangor MB, says Amirudin

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has admitted to proposing the name of PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar to be appointed as the next Selangor menteri besar.

In a recent Keluar Sekejap podcast episode, the Selangor Mentri Besar informed that he strongly agreed when asked by host Khairy Jamaluddin if the Prime Minister's daughter should be given the opportunity to lead the state government.

“I can say that it’s a good formula for Nurul Izzah's ‘landing’ so that there is no perception or stigma related to nepotism and so on.

“Honestly, I have already put it forward to (Nurul) Izzah herself; it’s up to her to take up the suggestion or not,” he said in the episode.

Previously, Amirudin dismissed claims that he would step down to make way for Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
