RON97 petrol to cost 20 sen less per litre from Wednesday


PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 petrol will go down by 20 sen to RM2.55 per litre from Wednesday. 

In a statement, the Finance Ministry said it had agreed that the retail price of RON97 petrol be reduced by 20 sen to RM2.55 per litre from Nov 19 (Wednesday).

The Petron Petrol Station Dealers Association also confirmed the decrease.

"We received the confirmation and informed our dealers on the change," its president Datuk Alang Zari Ishak told The Star on Tuesday.

The price of the premium petrol last changed in September, when it increased by 15 sen to RM2.75 per litre.

The RON97 petrol price peaked at RM3 per litre in September last year.

Petrol price of the RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.30 per litre.

On Oct 2, the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel went up by 20 per litre in an effort by the Government to rationalise subsidies.
