KUALA LUMPUR: Local universities are constantly monitoring students’ activities to ensure that they are not influenced by unhealthy elements, including being recruited by extremists.
President of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim said the management and staff of the university’s security division conducted checks on students’ backgrounds so that they were not susceptible to militant groups.
