Special panel to probe khalwat case


SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) has formed an independent committee to investigate the case of four people who were detained for khalwat (close proximity) last month.

Jais director Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad said the committee would review whether the officers handled the case in a proper manner when apprehending the four under Section 29 of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) 1995.
