Wisma Putra says will extradite diplomatic aide in sex assault case on request from NZ

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian government has no qualms over sending to New Zealand a diplomatic aide facing charges of burglary and assault with the intent to commit rape.

"If that is necessary and there is request from New Zealand, and they think the investigation is not done properly," Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman (pic) said at a press conference here Tuesday.

Anifah said the accused, Muhammad Rizalman Ismail, was a 38-year-old defence staff assistant with the rank of Second Warrant Officer.

A Wellington High Court judge on Tuesday lifted the suppression order obtained by the aide.
