MCA: Jamil’s statement against Cabinet decision


PETALING JAYA: A Cabinet deci­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­sion in 2009 has hit the spotlight again with a statement by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom that the Government has no plans to amend any current law which provides for only one of the parents to give his or her consent.

The Cabinet had, in April 2009, decided to prohibit unilateral child conversions.
