KUALA LUMPUR: The water treatment plant at Cheras Batu 11, which covers Hulu Langat resumed operations on Sunday, according to  Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas).

It said that the Bukit Tampoi treatment plant, which covers Kuala Langat, is still closed because of  ammonia pollution.

The acceptable level of ammonia is 1.5ppm and currently, it is fluctuating between 3 and 5ppm.

Syabas said that the overall demand during the festive season has dropped, allowing water to be diverted from other areas to sustain supply in affected areas.

Consumers have been urged to use water sparingly to avoid wastage.

The 36 areas in Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat reportedly experienced temporary water supply disruption, which began on Wednesday.
