Muhyiddin heads Perak honours list


IPOH: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin heads the list of awards recipients for the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah’s 82nd birthday today.

Muhyiddin will receive the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Sultan Azlan Shah Perak Yang Amat Dimulia, which carries the title Datuk Seri Diraja.

Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail will be bestowed the Darjah Kerabat Diraja Yang Amat Dihormati while Raja Kecil Tengah Perak Raja Ahmad Nazim Azlan Shah Raja Ashman Shah receives the Darjah Yang Teramat Mulia Darjah Kerabat Azlanii II.

State exco members Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and Zainol Fadzi Paharudin will receive the Kurniaan Darjah Datuk Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini, which carries the title Datuk, while Hee Yit Foong has been conferred the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak, which also carries the title Datuk.

The awards presentation ceremony will be held at the Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar.

A total of 912 people will re-ceive their awards this year, an increase from last year’s 803.

Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi is the sole recipient of the Darjah Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini, which carries the title Datuk Seri.

Four people will receive the Kurniaan Darjah Datuk Seri Padu­ka Mahkota Perak, which carries the title Datuk Seri. They are Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Arifin Zakaria, Perak State Secretary Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Hashim, Orang Kaya-Kaya Laksa­mana Raja Mahkota Datuk Mohd Amin Shukeri Ali Akbar and Japanese philanthropist Mune­yoshi Ueda.

Deputy IGP Tan Sri Ismail Omar will be among three recipients of the Kurniaan Darjah Datuk Seri Panglima Taming Sari, which carries the title Datuk Seri Pang-lima. The others are army field commander Lt-Jen Datuk Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi and RMN fleet operations chief Vice-Admiral Datuk Ahmad Kamarul-zaman Ahmad Badaruddin.

Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim will be among three recipients of the Kurniaan Darjah Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari, which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan.

The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd group managing editor Zainul Arifin Mohammed Isa received the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) which carries the title Datuk.

Former national athlete Asir Victor and former national footballer M. Karathu will be conferred the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak which carries the title of Datuk.
