Raya theme adds to sale of Mid-Autumn Festival delicacy

KUALA LUMPUR: Mooncakes are gaining popularity with the Malay community, especially since the Hari Raya celebrations coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival this year.

Several manufacturers and restaurants are selling Raya-themed mooncake gift sets comprising mooncakes, cookies and dates. One company has even made mooncakes using paste made from dates instead of the traditional lotus seeds.
