Rating system for NS camps to boost quality

MIRI: A system will be introduced to evaluate national service (NS) camps nationwide to judge the quality of infrastructure and recreational facilities, basic amenities, housing, and food.

National Service Training Depart-ment director-general Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang Kechil said the system would be implemented from next year.

The system would see merit and demerit points being given based on the quality of the services, infrastructure and facilities at the camps.

“Those that have been given too many demerit points will have their contracts shortened and may even be subjected to disciplinary actions and cancellation of their contracts,” he said when interviewed after visiting the NS Camp in Sungai Rait here.
