PETALING JAYA: It was a night to savour for Soo Wincci, who was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2008.

She stood tall even in a grand ballroom filled with celebrities and famous personalities at the impressive Palace of the Golden Horses, for the event aptly themed “A Night to Die For”.

The 23-year-old Selangor lass outshone 19 other finalists with her beauty, captivating grace, and modesty.

“It is unbelievable. I gave my best and expected the worst so I would not be disappointed. When my name was announced, I was stunned,” said the 157cm tall contestant, a law graduate from the University of Reading in England who is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration.

First runner-up was student Cindy Chen, 24, while model Shereen Kaur, 20, took third spot.
