Pahang MB unveils exco

KUANTAN: Live each day as if it is your last day. This is the advice from Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob at the first meeting of the new state executive council at Wisma Negeri here.

“Give total dedication, serve diligently and maintain a healthy lifestyle. We must get down to work immediately and do some soul-searching on what went wrong and initiate measures to correct our weaknesses,” he told reporters after unveiling the new state exco line-up.

Adnan said the state would not follow in the footsteps of the Penang and Perak governments to cancel summonses. “Such a move is unfair to law-abiding citizens and those who had paid up the fines.

“But, we have good news for the people as we have decided that the present water tariff in the state will not be increased.

“We will also continue with the concept of open tenders in awarding all contracts with the exception of certain complicated projects.

Adnan said one of the new administration’s main priorities was to engage young voters.

Adnan said they would continue with the projects listed under the East Coast Economic Region.

In the new line-up, Adnan will head the Finance, Investment and Industry Committee as well as the Islamic Affairs and Education Committee.

The posts of Deputy Mentri Besar and two other executive councillors have been left vacant.
