Bangladesh cigars seized in Klang


PORT KLANG: Cigars from Bangladesh known as beedi cigars worth RM211,200 with an estimated unpaid duty close to RM3mil were seized from a container at West Port here. 

Royal, Customs and Excise Department deputy director-general (Preventive) Datuk Mardiana Alwi said the seizure of the cigars was due to the alertness of Selangor Customs Supt Amiruddin Che Ali who spotted the contents while the container was being scanned.
