Radiant couple: Popular singer Ning Baizura Sheikh Hamzah,33, and consultant Omar Sharif Christopher Layton Dalton, also33, tied the knot yesterday. The akad nikah ceremony, held atMasjid Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur,was solemnised by Ning’s father Sheikh Ahmad SheikhMohamed. About 100 guests were present at the ceremony,including Omar’s parents Maureen and Colin Dalton, and hisbrother Mark. Several celebrities were among the guests,including singer Sarimah Ibrahim, actress and model ElaineDaly, and Chef Wan. The bride received seven trays of gifts(“dulang hantaran”), including a cheque for RM66,6666, fromthe groom, while Omar received nine trays of gifts in return.
