IGP vows to fight corruption

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has vowed that the battle against corruption in the force will continue. 

PLEASANT SURPRISE: Musa celebrating his birthday after delivering his inauguralkeynote address to all police chiefs and OCPDs in Cheras yesterday.

He said: “We will continue to monitor and take action against those involved in corrupt practices, as we want to rid the force of these people. 

“We want to regain the good image of the force and we only want clean, honest and trustworthy policemen,'' he said after delivering his inaugural keynote address to all police chiefs and OCPDs at the senior police officers college in Cheras yesterday. 

The IGP stressed the importance of the role of all police officers to fight crime effectively. 

He told the police chiefs and OCPDs to play a more active role and to hit the streets to find out what was happening at ground level. 

He added that they should know what was happening, so that they could act accordingly. 

Musa stressed the importance of being courteous and honest and also called upon his men to always uphold the integrity of the force. 

Later, Musa was pleasantly surprised when he was presented with a cake for his 55th birthday yesterday.
