Bumper harvest for student


KUCHING: Student Raden Ira Faraniza Mohd Iskandar was crowned Miss Fair and Lovely 2006 at the second World Harvest Festival at Sarawak Cultural Village here. 

The 23-year-old lass beat 12 other finalists, winning RM3,000, a scholarship for a diploma programme at a local college and other prizes on Saturday night.

The Universiti Teknologi Mara student also won the Miss SMS Voters’ Favourite and the Miss Talent Anggun subsidiary titles.  

First runner-up was radio deejay Siti Khalizah Alihan, 18, while secretary Martina Justine Rajang, 23, was second runner-up. They received RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively. 

Siti Khalizah also picked up the Miss Hollywood Personality subsidiary title. 

The finale was one of the highlights of the World Harvest Festival organised by Sarawak Cultural Village and the state Urban Development and Tourism Ministry. The festival ended yesterday.
