TAMIL NESAN reported the death of cardio-thoracic surgeon Dr T.J. Cherian who jumped off the terrace of his Abiramapuram residence in Chennai, India.

Dr Cherian, 86, became famous by being the first to perform open-heart surgery in India and was known to possess good memory.
