KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman logistics department deputy director (III) Zulkifli Abdullah, 44, has been appointed the new Kelantan police chief, one of the youngest CPOs to be appointed.
He will formally take up his post on Aug 1, succeeding SAC (I) Datuk Zuber Shariff.
The promotion will see him rising from a Senior Asst Comm (II) to a Senior Asst Comm (I).
Zuber takes over as Kedah Chief Police Officer with the rank of acting Deputy Comm (DCP), said Bukit Aman public relations chief Supt Mohamad Daud.
The moves are part of a transfer and promotion exercise involving 12 senior police officers.
The others are: Johor Deputy Chief Police Officer Senior Asst Comm (I) Mohd Anuar Md Zin to Deputy Director I, Internal Security and Public Order Department, Bukit Aman (acting DCP); Assistant Director of Logistics (Supplies) Asst Comm Hamzah Samsudin to commander of the Sarawak Brigade of the General Operations Force (acting SAC II);
Negri Sembilan CID chief ACP Azman Yusof to Deputy Director III, Logistics Department (acting SAC II); Cheras district police chief ACP Mohd Noor Masdar to Federal Reserve Unit Commander (acting SAC II); and Supt Hamzah Taib takes over as Cheras district police chief (acting ACP).
