Ministry wants police to probe SARS rumours

KANGAR: The Home Ministry has directed the police to investigate rumours about Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) spread via short message system (SMS) and e-mails. 

Deputy Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung said the police would, with immediate effect, monitor and investigate the rumours which could create unnecessary panic.
