THE Election commission (EC) has scaled up its voter education initiatives, as a large number of youth and new voters are expected to become more politically active after the implementation of Undi18.

Undi18 is the constitutional amendment which comes into force this year. It lowers the minimum voting age and age of candidacy from 21 to 18 and also introduces automatic voter registration.
