> The ASTAR Scrabble Challenge International (ASCI) 2026, organised by the First Residential College, Universiti Malaya, will be held from May 23 to 24 at the varsity.

> Established in 2006, ASCI has grown into a globally recognised international Scrabble tournament, supported by the World English-Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) and the Malaysian Scrabble Association.

> It aims to promote the word game across generations, enhance English language proficiency, and foster intellectual interaction and critical thinking among Malaysian and international participants from diverse backgrounds.

> The competition will adhere to the official Collins Scrabble Words 2024 lexicon and WESPA Version 5.1 rules, featuring Under-12, Under-15, Under-18 and Open categories.

> Participants will compete for a total cash prize pool of RM23,350, with medals and cash prizes presented to the Top 10 in all categories, and medals awarded to those placed 11th to 20th in the Under-12 and Under-15 categories

> Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited slots available.
