> The ASP is an international programme funded by the Amgen Foundation with the direction of Harvard University, aiming to increase research opportunities for students committed to pursuing careers in the field of biomedical science.

> Through the 8-or 10-weeks summer programme, outstanding undergraduates from across the globe can undertake research projects under the instruction of world-class faculty, get involved in cutting-edge seminars and networking events, and take part in a symposium as representatives in their respective regions.

> Amgen scholars are hosted at five premier educational institutions in Asia, namely, Tsinghua University (China), National University of Singapore (Singapore), University of Tokyo and Kyoto University (Japan) and International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (India).

> Undergraduates enrolled at colleges/ universities in Asia that award a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) are eligible to apply to participate at one of the host institutions. Each host institution has its own application process.

> Applicants must:

- Have completed their first year of undergraduate study at the time the summer programme begins in June;

- Are not graduating before the summer programme begins;

- After the summer programme ends will resume undergraduate studies for at least one semester or one quarter;

- Have a strong record of academic performance and a good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 72, IELTS overall band score of 5.5, Cambridge English FCE, TOEIC score of 1095, TOEIC L&R score of 785, or TOEIC S&W score of 310, if not a native English speaker or English is not your first language

- Be interested in pursuing a Ph.D.
