MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) celebrated the academic achievements of postgraduate graduands during its 36th Convocation Ceremony on Dec 6 and 7 last year.
The second edition of the Hooding Ceremony took place on Dec 4 and was graced by MSU president and founder Prof Tan Sri Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.
A total of 106 postgraduate students from the Graduate School of Management and the School of Graduate Studies represented six countries: Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Sudan, with 65 completing master’s degrees across 23 programmes and 41 graduating with doctoral degrees from six programmes.
The master’s cohort comprises 45 graduates from Malaysia, seven from China, five from Sri Lanka, four from Indonesia, three from Saudi Arabia and one from Sudan. The doctoral (PhD) cohort includes 38 graduates from China and three from Malaysia.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) had the highest number of master’s graduates at 31, while the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management produced the largest cohort of doctoral graduates, with 33.
In his official remarks, Prof Mohd Shukri said, “This ceremony marks the beginning of your scholarly journey, where challenges await to test the knowledge and skills you have acquired. The impact of your degree matters now more than ever, and your scholarly journey reflects your commitment, critical thinking and perspective.”

MSU offers postgraduate studies leading to advanced degrees at the MBA, MSc and PhD levels. The programmes cover a wide range of disciplines, including Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Information Sciences, Education and Social Sciences, Business Management and Professional Studies, and Hospitality and Culinary Arts. These programmes are offered under the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) and the Graduate School of Management (GSM).
