Rapid repairs for schools damaged in Perlis, Selangor fires, says ministry

PETALING JAYA: Repair works will be carried out immediately at schools affected by recent fires in Perlis and Selangor, the Education Ministry says.

In a statement on Friday (Nov 14), the Education Ministry said all school administrators, district education offices, and state education departments must ensure that school facilities remain safe.

“The Education Ministry is concerned about several fire incidents involving educational institutions under its purview, including SK Padang Melangit, Perlis, on Thursday (Nov 13), as well as SMK Jalan Tiga and SBPI Sungai Lang, Selangor, today.

“Immediate action has been taken to investigate the causes of the incidents and assess the damage to the affected school infrastructure.

“The safety and well-being of students, teachers, and the entire school community must be given top priority,” it said.
