School holidays in 2025


SCHOOL will reopen in all states on Feb 17 next year and a day earlier in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

According to the Education Ministry’s website, there will be 194 school days and 44 holidays (see table).

The Education Ministry has also allocated additional holidays for festive celebrations. For Hari Raya Aidilfitri, schools in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu will close on March 30 and April 2 to 3, while other states will observe holidays from April 2 to 4.

Similarly, for Deepavali, schools in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu will close on Oct 19 and 21, and schools in other states will have holidays from Oct 21 to 22, except Sarawak, which will have a holiday on October 20.

The year-end break will start on Dec 20 next year, except Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu where holidays start a day earlier.
