THE perennial problem of primary school pupils lugging heavy school bags, which has largely gone unnoticed over the last two years due to the shift towards online teaching and learning owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, has come under scrutiny again with all students returning for face-to-face lessons, including the unvaccinated, from May 1.

If we are serious about unburdening our children once and for all, all quarters – especially parents – must do their part, Melaka Action Group for Parents in Education chairman Mak Chee Kin told StarEdu.
