PARENTS and pupils must be more proactive and selective in deciding what goes into the latter’s school bags if an effective solution to the perennial problem is to be found.
Support for the Education Ministry’s recently announced initiatives, said educationist and Universiti Malaya former professor of education Tan Sri Dr T. Marimuthu, can significantly reduce the weight of school bags as both parents and schoolchildren play an important role in solving the long-standing heavy school bags issue.
