Lucius Khor Zhe Yi received the good news from Sunway College director of the A-Level programme Ruth Cheah.

“A call from Cheah woke me up. I was dumbfounded and excited when she delivered the message. I sat on my bed speechless as she explained everything to me.”

Khor was awarded Best Across Four while achieving Top in the World for Mathematics and Top in Malaysia for Chemistry.

Attributing his success to his teachers, he says: “All of my lecturers provide plenty of resources and past year papers to aid in our preparation. The tutorials conducted helped strengthen my understanding of the concepts presented.”

He recalls his physics lecturer jumping in with deep concepts and explaining them systematically, which only motivated Khor to further his reading using external resources.

“The lecturers put a great emphasis on explaining techniques and methods to excel in the external examinations. It made me more confident in answering questions during the test.”

“My teachers were helpful and very approachable, so I never felt uncomfortable asking them questions.

“Online learning was something new and challenging for the teachers. Fortunately, the teachers adapted to the situation and overcame the issues quickly to avoid hindering our education,” he says.

A total of 11 A-Level students from Sunway College received 15 prestigious awards from CAIE, which acknowledge their outstanding performance in the June 2021 Cambridge examination series.
