What it’s like...

Form Six student Loong Zhing Zhia, St. John's Institution, Kuala Lumpur, MUET 2020 Session 2 candidate

The revised format has more questions with varying difficulties and tests one’s capabilities quite well. The Speaking and Writing tasks are most enjoyable for me. I’m quite prepared for the test. My MUET teacher Ms. Doreen Da Costa gave a lot of exercises and provided me with many chances to further improve my language skills. One example would be her recommendation for the whole class to participate in the Write it Right essay competition run by The Star’s Newspaper-in-Education (NiE) team periodically. The equal distribution of marks for all four test components shows that to truly master a language, the four skills are equally important. Not only that, it could truly test one’s mastery of the language much more effectively.
