STUDENTS consider several factors when applying for a scholarship, especially when faced with multiple choices. Some look only at the amount of pocket money offered, but smart ones know that the best things in life are not just about the stipend.
Take for example, Shafizul Faizal Zulkiply, 32, of Taiping, who in 2009 was offered two scholarships — one from a foreign bank and the other from construction giant Gamuda Bhd – to fund his degree in business administration from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
