I WATCHED Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein again for the third time last week, and halfway during the movie at the point when the unfortunate and yet rather wonderful creation from mismatched human parts demands reasons for his existence from his creator, I suddenly felt a deep sense of empathy, an almost kindred sort of spirit.
