PENANG will have a ‘university in the city’ if an application by the Wawasan Open University (WOU) to conduct conventional full-time classes at its campus in George Town is approved.

WOU chancellor Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik said the university, which currently offered an open distance learning model, had submitted its application to the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the purpose.
